    One of the goofiest things ever!

    Howdy Folks:)

    So, I know this is predominantly an art and creative outlet site... but I must rant for one brief moment about the artful and creative way the government is being goofy once again...

    My sister, whose children you have all come to know well in photographs, receives child support for her eldest child... and it ain't much folks, under 100.00$ a month... Anyway, she was informed very recently by a nice little letter from Washington that for every 500.00$ she receives in child support the government will be keeping a small percentage of it to help bring down the national debt...

    Um, taking money from children to bring down the national debt???

    What a world we live in... Let us pray that January 20, 2009, when a new President is inaugurated, will be a new day for this country...

    oh dear...

    I must say that the state we find ourselves in makes me chew on the inside and outside of my lower lip frequently.

    We're in national debt, but our borders are more secure. We're progressing on alternate fuel, but there's threat of a possible food shortage because the corn to fuel a few hundred vehicles could feed a man for a year.

    absolutely.

    our administration has gone crazy.

    want to know what scares me though? is if certain parties get in, our debt won't be any different because of all of the programs they want to institute. from where I stand America is looking a little screwed these days.

    not that I would want to live any where else. I still love this land =D

    I love it too.... But I must admit, and taking this child support situation as an example, that when I hear of a country like France offering child care to mother's and home assistance to new mothers it is hard to not think "the grass is greener" and contemplate a move...know what I mean?:)

    But yes, I feel that regardless of who gets in, Rebup. or Dem, Hilary or Obama... we are screwed to some degree... Either of the three candidates will inherit many problems and trying to solve any of them will step on many toes unfortunately...
    I feel that we as a people need to look at ourselves and see some of this mess that was created... our need for more and bigger and faster and better... that begins in our hearts as a flawed humanity... The government in many ways is but a reflection of some of our messed up ideals and priorities on more of a macro level...
    ok, best to stop now... otherwise I'll be at it all night! :)

    I don't blame any one political party, but I do tend to step back and say, "Whoa, America, what are we thinking?"

    still I have the right to voice my conern without fear of death; I have the right to influence the decisions being made; I have the right to have a right.

    I guess no government is perfect since humans aren't perfect... But taking money from child support? That's pretty bad....

    hey canada,guess where we are going to get our next batch of forest products..:),,, your right penny for them to take away from a child is par for the course lately.. such a greedy bunch of bastards we are..of course they would not be taking it if we wernt wasting 20billion a month on ????you know...we should be happy with the minimum(i am) but its nice to splurge..its all progress penny..good or bad its here..its to bad the children are the ones to suffer..:hug:
